Every few weeks, someone asks me:
“Doctor, will AI replace dentists?”
My answer is always the same.
No. But it will absolutely change how good dentists practise.
Artificial intelligence is already helping analyse radiographs, identify patterns, improve treatment planning and support clinical decisions. Digital scanners create highly accurate impressions. CBCT imaging provides three-dimensional views that were impossible a generation ago.
These technologies are making dentistry smarter, faster and more precise.
But here’s what AI cannot do.
It cannot understand a patient’s fears.
It cannot reassure an anxious child.
It cannot balance scientific evidence with individual preferences.
And it cannot build trust.
Technology provides information.
Wisdom decides how to use it.
At Realtooth, we have embraced digital dentistry because it improves accuracy, comfort and predictability. But every scan, every image and every AI-assisted insight still passes through one filter—clinical judgement.
The future of dentistry isn’t human versus technology.
It’s humans empowered by technology.
Patients deserve both.
The Realtooth Perspective
We continually invest in advanced technology because it helps us diagnose better, communicate more clearly and deliver more precise care. But we believe technology should enhance the doctor-patient relationship—not replace it.

If AI could make healthcare more accurate but not more compassionate, would that be enough?
