Change and I have not been the best of friends. I prefer comfort, I prefer routine. So when the suggestion of introducing "healthy cakes" to my bakery menu was floated, I stood still. I asked myself, What if nobody orders them? What if people ridicule the concept of oat flour brownies or sugar-free rasmalai cake?

But I did it anyway. And would you know? Not only did folks purchase them, some actually thanked me for providing desserts that they could enjoy without the pangs of guilt. That single adjustment opened doors I didn't even realize existed.

Change is scary because it disrupts the comfortable. But if I've learned one thing, it's this: without change, you remain stuck in one place. And truthfully, the magic lies in when you move.

In business and in life, fighting change is safe—but it also keeps you small. Embracing it, even in tiny increments, creates room for growth, for new customers, and for aspects of yourself you don't yet know.

So yes, change is painful. But so are new shoes… until they lead you somewhere you've never been.
