Preventing Cervical Cancer with Vaccination
Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women, but the good news is that it is largely preventable. The key lies in awareness and early vaccination.
The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine has proven to be both safe and effective, reducing cervical cancer cases worldwide by nearly 40%. Vaccination is recommended for both girls and boys between 9–26 years of age:
Ages 9–14 years: only 2 doses are needed.
Ages 15–26 years: 3 doses are required.
Each schedule ensures at least 10 years of protection.
India has taken a major step forward with the development of CERVAVAC, an indigenously manufactured HPV vaccine by the Serum Institute of India. This makes protection against cervical cancer more accessible and affordable to families across the country.
EASTERN MEDICAL & SURGICAL CORPORATION as a distributor of the company, we are committed to ensure timely availability of vaccine like CERVAVAC, supporting healthcare providers and communities in the fight against preventable diseases.
