There was a time when people in old lucknow used to wait for festivals like Jamghat and Raksha bandhan and state holidays like 15th August and 26th January, so that they can rush to balconies or open terrace of there homes and indulge in kite flying.

Those were the days when malls and social media platforms were not there and people resorted to their TV channels watching doordarshan or going to parks or going to cinema halls.

But the most favourite of all was kite flying, with numerous benefits for the people who were constantly flying kites.

First flying kite needs physical strength and technique to get the kite fly on sky.
The older people use to have a very sharp eye due to constant focus needed during kite flying.

There were big or small competitions held during winter holidays when people form teams and indulge in kite flying.

Now a days due to social media platforms and people started living in apartments hence no open space for this popular sport.

But still old city is a place where still kids and Elders still restore the old practice of flying kites and keeping this heritage sport alive.
