Most parents ask, “How was your day?”
Most kids say, “Nothing happened.”
That sentence should scare us more than it does.
But first, let me be clear:
School isn’t the problem.
Parents and teachers are doing their best and classrooms are definitely well structured.
But something still gets missed.
And it’s not academics.
It’s aliveness.
That feeling when something clicks.
When a child builds something from scratch and they can’t wait to show you what they made.
I saw it recently at one of the workshops we organised.
A little girl ran to her mom with what she created.
“You HAVE to see what I made today!”
📍 She spoke non-stop
📍 She lit up with pride
📍 Her mom just stood there, stunned, like she was seeing her so excited for the first time in weeks
And such moments should make everyone realise that when kids feel connected to what they do,
They don’t just tell you facts.
They express themselves the best.
And that’s why I believe that, we don’t just run events. We create moments kids carry home.
📍 Activities that create curiosity
📍 Projects they feel proud of
📍 Joy that doesn’t need a trophy to be real
So if your child ever says, “Nothing happened today,”
Pause.
Because It might not be boredom but maybe a sign that they’re craving something deeper.
Let’s not wait for school to change everything.
Let’s build spaces that add what’s missing.
And give kids more days they can’t stop talking about.
That is what we are building at Creste DIY
