A Leader is someone who leads the team in the Right Direction with the right set of people & with a clear vision in mind ! Isn’t that true & accepted widely?
But that’s not always right. It’s assumed that the Leader will always be right & their decisions will always be beneficial for others. Whatever they say becomes a benchmark. Whatever they do needs to be replicated.
But what if the leadership is ambiguous about their decisions or some of their decisions may not be right and may do more harm than benefit? This is where the role of a right team becomes so crucial. No matter which field you see, every person who is in a leading position has got a set of team behind them. They not only guide them on important issues but correct them when the leader’s decisions may seem to be in the wrong direction. They are like the leader’s Most Trusted Soldiers !
A Right Team is Basically like the Right Hand Man of the Leader. So a Leader must choose their team wisely. They all may come from different fields, carry different years of experience & may not always have the same vision at a personal level. But what must unite them is the fact that they all share the same vision at a professional level ! They all must be very much aware of the leadership’s vision according to which every single member of the team must align with, though the ways of achieving that vision may differ for everyone in the core team.
Sometimes, let’s assume a Leader may always be right. But they may not have the time or resources to execute all the decisions. In such cases, the leader may wish to delegate roles to others & the same time the leader has also to ensure that right work is delegated to the right team member. Here also, the role of a right team is very important.
Lastly, one may point out that No team is right or wrong. It’s ones talent that needs to be identified, nurtured & put to use. That is also right. When one hires a new team, they are completely unaware of each other’s vision, their core competency, weaknesses. It’s the leader’s responsibility to identify this talent, then delegate the right work to the right team member, set up a standard process & get the results delivered. Initially, there may be some mistakes from member’s end (or the leader’s end) but as they gain experience, the team eventually starts delivering the right results. That’s when the Team becomes RIGHT !
So if you a leader then it’s time you get your RIGHT TEAM. If it’s not the right team, then make it the one !
